Trunks VS Zero is SSS42X2's 148th DBX and 13th of Season 8. It features the return of both Trunks of the Dragon Ball franchise and Zero of the Mega Man X series.

Fight Intro[]
LOCATION: Ruined City
(Cue Battle Theme - Karas)
In a ruined city, the sky was bleak, the area was destroyed, and multiple fires rage from all over. A kid with golden hair and a sword looks around, revealed to be Trunks. Trunks sees a red figure in the distance before dashing towards it at high speeds. The red figure, revealed to be Zero, notices Trunks flying towards him and blocks his attack.
Zero: Beat it, pal.
Trunks: Android, I will stop you!
Zero pulls out his Z-Saber.
Zero: Stop lecturing and show me what you got!
Trunks takes out his sword as well.
Trunks: That's my line!
Phase: Sabers Of The Future![]
HERE WE GOOO!
Trunks dashes towards Zero as the two trade blows until Zero spins around with Kuuenzan as Trunks blocks the attack. The two then clash their blades until Trunks kicks Zero back before firing a ki blast. Zero slices the ki blast before firing two shots from the Z-Buster and then sending a Hadangeki towards Trunks. Trunks counters with multiple ki blasts that cause all of the projectiles to dissipate.
Trunks: Take this!
Trunks fires the Burning Attack as Zero deflects it with the Z-Saber before slashing Trunks with the Ryuenjin and blasting him into a burning building with a Charge Shot.
Zero: Just like a training program.
Trunks flies back towards Zero before firing a beam of energy that Zero barely dodges. Trunks then flies up and attacks with Buster Cannon, sending Zero back. Trunks then fires three ki blasts before Zero sends three dragonflies towards the ki blasts with Yammar Option. Zero then slams his fist on the ground.
Zero: Rekkoha!
Multiple beams of light fall from the sky as Trunks is sent flying down towards the ground before being blasted by more attacks. Trunks roars out as he enters Super Saiyan 2. Zero then unleashes multiple swings towards Trunks, who is sent flying back. Trunks recovers and dashes towards Zero, who uses Dark Hold to freeze time.
(Cut Music)
Zero then cuts Trunks as time returns to normal. Trunks starts to disintegrate, but a massive roar from the alien-human hybrid sends the Reploid back, as Trunks enters Super Saiyan Rage.
(Cue God Mode)
Trunks: ANDROID, I WILL KILL YOU!
Zero charges Genmu Zero.
Zero: No more games!
A strange aura surrounds Zero as he fires the Genmu Zero towards Trunks, who dashes forward and deflects it easily. Trunks then takes out his sword and rapidly slashes Zero, leaving multiple scratches before kicking him into a burning building that Trunks destroys with a ki blast. Trunks throws Zero into the air and fires the Heat Dome Attack, sending Zero sky high. Trunks then slams Zero into the ground, greatly damaging the Reploid.
Zero: Ugh... How did this happen?
Trunks creates the Sword of Hope as Zero holds his arm in pain and exhaustion. Zero then enters Black Zero mode and turn his Z-Saber purple. The two trade blows with their blades the area shakes. Trunks stabs Zero straight in the gut before slashing upwards, but Zero quickly shoots him before he could kill him.
Trunks: I WILL NOT LET YOU WIN!
Trunks absorbed the energy from the Sword of Hope and fires a massive ki beam at Zero, who blocks it with the Z-Saber, but not for long as the energy beam engulfs Zero, leaving no trace.
(Cut Music)
Trunks reverts to base form as he looks around.
Trunks: I did it...
Suddenly, a charging sound is heard as a blast passes him, revealing a badly damaged Zero.
(Cue Zero's Theme - Mega Man: Maverick Hunter X)
Trunks: What?! How did you...
Zero: Always have a backup plan. The problem with you is that you pull your punches. Evil deserves to be eliminated...
Zero then stabs Trunks in the gut.
Zero: Period.
Zero then rapidly slashes a defenseless Trunks before blasting the bits of Trunks' body to lie on the floor.
(End Music)
Zero teleports out of the area with not a word out of his mouth.

Zero gives a thumbs-up before teleporting away.
